MARTINSHOF WERKSTATT BREMEN

“We use automation to avoid mistakes that previously occurred in the production process. Everyone must be able to work smoothly together.” Mrs. Miriam Berger, Production Planning, MARTINSHOF WERKSTATT BREMEN

Manual work meets modern automation
Martinshof, a factory staffed by people with disabilities, uses automation to avoid mistakes that previously occurred in the production process. Poka Yoke, Mitsubishi Electric’s guided operator solution, works like a filter. It is only possible to start the next step once the previous one has been completed. All processes are completed without interruption and with no chance for a mix-up.
A further advantage is that we can use illustrations to provide instructions for staff members with learning disabilities. Workers can also double-check the next step and work efficiently according to plan.

Manufacturing in the New Norm
|
|
Returning to full operations, restarting processes and lines often reveals underlying problems which were not previously visible and creates a maintenance nightmare of unquestionable proportions. Remote access is a key benefit if the device you are accessing is not intelligent, the value is drastically reduced as the amount of information is restricted.
Building extensive automation solutions takes a great deal of time, budget and planning and in these times when manufacturers want to get up and running quickly and flexibly, all three resources are likely to be in short supply.
So how do you navigate the new manufacturing norm?
